After 23 years with USAA we received a notice stating they were dropping our homeowners coverage because of too many claims. We have never filed a claim but called with questions about our roofover those 23 years. That apparently is logged as a claim.

No one ever mentioned a word to us over all those years not to inquire because it is a mark against you.

So after $71,000 paid to them and not one cent back to us they drop us.It is unbelieveable how common sense does not play a role in their everyday business. BEWARE of USAA, and their premiums are higher then other insurance groups.

This years SSA was BS one of the highest amounts I have seen in a long while but instead of it being a default like all years prior saying check it says to put towards ins. HMM I don't know about ya'll but its awfully fishy to me because they are not losing any money if it goes to your ins.

but if it goes to your pocket its a loss for them. I called and asked why my money was put into my ins instead of my account they told me because I changed it on MY online account and I'm not the service member mine didn't count. So why in thee *** do you have it on my account to do it?

So that was a 776.00 check I missed because I changed it on the WRONG account. BS just total BS.

I just got notified that USAA is dropping my auto policy because of three claims in two years. They labeled the incidents as "at fault - loss of control".

Incident 1 and 2 happened a year apart in January as a result of icy roads. Both were at speeds between 5 mph and 10 mph, crossing traffic lanes in a left-hand turn on unkept roads (side streets). The third incident just happened in June and was also weather related. During my commute to work, rain came down like a torrential rain storm and wind gusts were up to 30 mph.

The posted Interstate speed limit was 65, I was doing 55. I was switching lanes and took my foot off the accelerator. I felt the car lose traction and rock a little. Then my right tires gripped the road again and sent me into a spin, launching me into the median before placing me in the middle of the traffic lanes.

I accelerated to get out of traffic, knowing that the other drivers coming couldn't see me in-time. I was the only car involved. I drive over 30,000 miles a year to and from work. The ratio for my potential involvement in a motor vehicle incident is high.

Granted my last two years have seen a streak of bad luck, but they should have more loyalty to their customers. I feel betrayed by them, like when a friend betrays your trust.

22 Years of Paying insurance Premiums to USAA. USAA Dropped us via a message in our inbox on line.

Not even a phone call.

The reason they gave us: - husband wreak his motorcycle (USAA paid us 7000 Total Loss) - 18 year old niece ran into back of another car - Son received 2 speeding tickets Granted been a bad year Anyway, I get its a business decision but please don't tell me thank you for your loyalty any longer. Lets keep it business and I will be looking for cheaper rates on all my business transaction.

Yes, I've experienced similar circumstances regarding USAA.

All those monies spent on advertising and promotional marketing; that's where my 22 years plus of premiums probably ended up.

Military relocation from SW USA; Texas and New Mexico to Washington DC metropolitan area.

Without incident, my rates skyrocketed.

Then when 3 vehicles rear end me, USAA loses their mind and blames me for these inattentive drivers.

USAA is a sham organization run by 07s, 08s, and E9s skimming subscribers by overcharging.

I can't figure out why enlisted vets and enlisted uniformed service members jumped on board but since then, USAA has gone downhill. The Corporate Board changed the landscape of USAA, but I guarentee the advertisers over rate USAA.

I totally agree with you --- after 35 years with USAA having home owners, my car my children's car, umbrella insurance they dropped my rental cover because of two claims over the last three years. One claim was for a car burglary and the other was for my lap top that stopped working, I paid extra for that coverage.

USAA IS NOT the same insurance company that it started out to be --- it use to be the best that military officers could get.

Now their rates are higher and they will drop you like a rock if you use them.

Longtime member here and one thing i know for certain is that insurance premiums paid by the memberships get a small amount paid back each year. Also, there is the SSA, or subscribers savings account.

This also builds up from paying your insurance premiums.

You get it back when you cancel your USAA membership. So at the very least you need to mention this part to tell the entire truth of your story please.

You stated your never made a claim. I hate to be the bearer of education here but when you call an insurance company and tell them their has been a "loss" or "damage" to an asset of yours that they are "covering", THAT IS A CLAIM. It is a claim whether you receive a payout or not. For example you can claim your car was hit...report the claim...then later decide to fix your vehicle yourself...that is a claim. Its opened and closed.

Here is what likely happened. Could it be that you neglected to repair your roof after all those years? Why should the insurance company wait for your roof to fall apart because you fail to resolve the issue after your inquired about it the first time during those 23 years?

Insurance is fundamentaly the transfer of risk. Having you boast on the amount of premiums or your tenure in hopes to solidify your complaint holds no merit. For example an insurance company should not complain that a new customer whom has not had an accident for 25 years suddenly has a loss of 2 million dollars and yet they may have only made 2 $430.00 monthly payments on their auto insurance.

Just my 2 cents.

You're a SLIMEBAG and need a course on ETHICS. You can justify your behavior anyway you like, you have chosen your profession in the INSURANCE INDUSTRY and now feel threatened by loyal customers making valid claims.

You PREY on people and someday you will be judge accordingly. May god have mercy on your soul.

No, he’s being logical. That’s how it works.

Don’t shoot the messenger. Your hate is unreal. Read your documents. A bad roof is a very common reason to get cancelled.

You have to do regular maintenance to protect your property. Insurance comes second.

Get your facts straight about memebership. You must be military or a family member ie spouse or child ONLY to become a a member.

I can tell you for a fact the homeowners and auto policies are some of the cheapest. They like every other company checks the person credit and bases the cost on the report.

We are/were fools. USAA used to be a great company with great service.

It is no longer that way. I shop for insurance now and USAA does not get my business unless they are better priced which they were after I left them for 2 years. Time came for renewal and they we $$$$$$ much less than I paid before I dropped them. I check with others every time my policies come up for renewal.

I will likely change from USAA Auto because of their Safelite Scamming. I recently had a claim for Auto glass. They told me that I had $500 Deductible that they would waive if I used USAA Safelite program. They quoted my price as $354 if I took it to a shop, or $374 at my home.

Earliest shop was 4 days, home 5 days. Made appointment at shop. I thought about it and called a local company. They replaced my windshield the next day for $250 at my house without any claim against insurance.

This is "service"? Once upon a time the membership was restricted, I think you must have known about someone that was once in the military or had studied about the military or heard it on the news to qualify.

BTW: I am sure this counts as a claim.

so you have them 23 years and tell us the premiums are higher than most. why wait 23 years, you should have dropped them, obvious at 3300 a year you must have a 700,000$ home.

something fishy here, but regardless, those premiums are way to high.

Just because you don't own much, doesn't mean the rest of us don't have assets. I've paid over $90,000 to USAA over the last 27 years and am finally dumping them!
