USAA - Dreadful customer service

Details
I called credit card division to dispute a charge for an item that was never delivered. Agent was inept. When I asked for a manager, she hung up on me. Second agent was downright surly. Utter combination of disrespect and incompetence.

USAA - Denied my credit card dispute for lack of details

Details
When you write your dispute if it is too lengthy they return it to you and ask that you shorten it . So i complied .10 days later i received a letter of denial because i did not supply enough details . This new non veteran CEO Wayne Peacock has turned USAA into a scammer . They refused to accept the data on the dispute despite the MANY COMPLAINTS AND LAWSUITS against Terminix. Just google scam complaints against Terminix.They hacked my credit card for $489 . I have them a check for $725 and never showed them my credit card. Despite the complaints against Terminix that were emailed to wayne@***.com my word was brushed aside . I never received a reply from Peacock. They are now charging me interest on the fraudulent $489.There are many other complaint boards against USAA .A

USAA - Obnoxius, inefficient--- dare I say STUPID

my mother had a charge card with USAA. 18 days after she died, a slew of charges, totaling over $4,000 appeared on her charge card. I settled her charge card bill but USAA refused to recognize the fraudulent charges, even though I continually gave them the amounts and the vendors. Their charge card rates and offers aren't even competitive - you can do much better with a local credit union.

have the fraud department write me a letter, recognizing the fraudulent nature of these charges. And refund me the attorney fees and court costs I had to pay for this to get resolved through her probate estate.

fraud alert forced cancellation of cc; acc closed with balance given new #; efforts on 3 occasions to pay by phone with a bank transfer unsuccessful, reps were not able to adjust 2 challenged charges & credit rewards pts; a mailed ck on 2 Jan w acc name & last 4 #s was returned as: "non-negotiable" and "must include member # with 1st and last 4 digits of cc. HOURS have been spent attempting to unwind this morass.

USAA - Avoid their credit card like a plague!!!!

I go the USAA AMEX card 6 months ago. I use the card regularly and pay it in full before the end of the month. However, every time a make an electronic payment from my bank, USAA holds the money for 7 days before applying it to the card. They claim it's an automated system and that it is learning my payment habits. If I make the same payment a few times, it will credit the account the next day. What kind of BS is that? I pay the full amount which is different every month. So they suggested I pay a set amount (which leaves a balance for them to charge interest) or to open a USAA bank account (so they can get interest off of that money). These are straight crooks under the guise of serving veterans. Holding money that is electronically deposited should be illegal but I guess it isn't. Do yourself a favor and go with a bank that's established and has enough customers world wide that holding money for interest isn't necessary because they have enough clients to actually sustain the bank.

Failed to resolve the issue and did next to nothing. Placed all the burden on me to PROVE that the charge was bogus. I am NEVER using their credit card for travel-related expenses again, because travel is where the most pitfalls are. USAA now operates like a government agency. Silos, constant handoffs to other departments, no responsibility taking. It's just like any other greedy insurance company. I've been a member for nearly 50 years.

USAA - Ok in general, but lies when necessary

USAA had so many issues with secured VISA accounts (like the one I'm writing about) they had to stop the program. If/when they start it back up, DO NOT JOIN THEM, go to another bank. Simply, I had to file Chapter 13 consolidation bankruptcy and was told by USAA my account would not be impacted because it was secured with my funds in a CD. That was LIE#1 from USAA. Within 24 hours of my C13 filing, USAA closed my secured account and charged it off (even though I was NEVER late, not once) and locked my funds in the CD. I was told to have my lawyer contact USAA (which he did twice) to get the funds redirected to pay off the secured VISA and then I would receive the balance. They ignored my lawyer completely. That was LIE#2 from USAA. I then called back to reached a customer service rep in the credit card department that said I was misinformed and the CD SHOULD HAVE BEEN closed immediately (she was the first honest rep I found). She put in the paperwork to have the funds released to pay off the card and to give me the balance, which did NOT happen. The claim she put in was denied even though she was correct (according to my lawyer). At this point, USAA is screwing me over. I'm now on my next round of calls and USAA keeps bouncing me all over the place from one rep to another and they keep feeding me BS. My next step is to file a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) since they help consumers in my situation. USAA is full of lies around their credit card policies. If you're in a situation like I am where you have to file any form of bankruptcy and need to start over, find another bank to get a secured card through, because USAA will not be there to help you.

USAA - Credit Card Agreement

I have a USAA American Express card. The credit card agreement, which constitutes a contract, gives 5% in points for purchases of gas and purchases on a military base. I recently used the card at the Randolph AFB BX and Commissary. They gave 1% at the BX and 2% at the commissary. When I called to complain, they told me it was the merchant code that was used and that I should call the merchant. It happened at two separate entities on base on the same day so it is totally unreasonable that they both made the identical mistake on the same day. I called the commissary and they have no idea what codes they are talking about. The purchases clearly say Randolph Air Force Base but they refused to make a correction saying there is nothing they can do. They have violated the terms of their contract.

USAA - Electronic Credit Card Payment

My wife authorized an electronic credit card payment to USAA for a payment to their credit card for $350.00. She received a confirmation of the amount, the payee, and a confirmation number. When she checked her bank account she discovered that USAA had removed $8,350.00 from our account leaving us broke. This went on for a week before our bank replenished the funds. The very next day, USAA took the money AGAIN. This time they included my recent pay and some savings to cover the expenditure. My bank was ab;e to replenish the funds again after about another week. I sent a letter to Mr. Parker listing these issues. During this time I was in contact with many USAA staff members including Stuart Parker's Office. They assigned a case manager who could not determine what happened even after listening to the audible tapes of the calls. They and their IT Department said everything was in order, even though they admitted it would have been ludicrous for my wife to authorize a $8,350.00 payment. They said they checked and this had never happened to anyone else. They refused to cover any late payments from my creditors and did nothing to notify them of their mistake. Nor did we receive any written apology other than the case manager offering a verbal apology. I am still receiving dunning letters from creditors and wonder what my credit rating will look like after this. I sent a second letter letter to Mr. Parker, who earns over $4 Million, delineating this and copied every member of his board, who earn over $200,000 a year for serving on the Board. I doubt I'll receive any satisfaction. It's sad that a company who was very well thought of is now in the sewer.

USAA is HORRIBLE! I had a joint bank account with my mom with them.

After she died, I tried to remove her name. I sent them her death certificate and they told me that wasn’t enough and have not removed her to this day. I also had a credit card and insurance with them. The sent my credit card payments to another member’s account and charged me for non-payment.

They closed the account the other day and now I have to get a lawyer to deal with this. I had payments go to the credit card that should have gone to the insurance and I called to cancel my insurance with them.

Get out now! They are a TERRIBLE company!!!

Nobody bought them out; poor; management did it!!!.. They have just been going down hill for a long time.

Just like the base exchanges that are so badly mismanaged that they no longer contribute to any of the contractor drained recreational services on the military installations.
