They do this. And it is illegal.

Wells Fargo and Chase were both sued for the same thing! Happened to me MANY times but it just started in the last few years...oddly around the time when new high officials were hired...they are not for VETERANS at all anymore.

USAA - Telephone experience is so horrible!

I have tried to settle my Dad’s estate since early October. I first tried walking in to talk to someone in person. They directed me to a phone booth to call someone which got me no where. I’ve been calling and getting the run around for months. It is so frustrating! They are curtious but I just got passed around to at least 6 different departments and people. When if I finally had someone looking into my case, he put me on hold and then I was hung up on. REALLY FRUSTRATING!! I was directed to a voicemail box which the person said it was full and then said to press 0 for his associate-again a hang up!! What’s up with USAA? How can they claim great customer service when there is none! I’ve been a member for 40 years but am really thinking about going somewhere else that will be glad to take my money and service my claims.

USAA - They dragged their heels every step of the way.

My car was totaled by a USAA insured driver on Christmas Eve. She was not the owner of the car she was driving and we had to go through her insurance. It took almost a month just to get the claim filed as she did not file it and the car was in storage until today because they would not pay the full storage and towing fees. They are giving us just under $5000 for the car and storage/towing while storage and towing came to $6000. They were rude each time we got someone to pick up and we had to get a supervisor to even get that to happen. It has been a 5 month ordeal and I wasn't even in the car when it happened! She totaled a parked car and we are still fighting to get reimbursed for our losses. It took until two weeks ago for them to even make the offer and the towing and storage was already $5500 when that happened. This is wrong on so many levels and there is nothing that we can do to even make this right.

Don't buy into loyal service and customer care BS. I have been a member for 23 years and never once had to file a claim. 1st time I tried to file a claim all it has been is a hassle. Can not get anyone to even pick up a phone and call. They brag about all you have to do is sumbit photos. Yea what a joke that has been. All they no how to do is say claim is complete you get nothing, or this is a minor claim we don't want to help. When it comes down to actually helping members they don't do anything it is all bout getting your money.

Called USAA and they were great in getting water remediation out to dry things out. USAA then sent adjuster out to look at damage, at same time they also contracted for same contractor to remove entire family room floor so they tore things down to the concrete slab....

Same thing happened to me except it was from behind a shower wall that you could not determine there was a leak, they used the 14 day routine, the repair cost was over 10k

It has been two years and multiple denials on a water damage claim that USAA escaped in covering for even though the issue was freezing pipes in a rental home that had water still in the lines from a faulty water valve from the meter that was still running water through even though the water was turned off months before. USAA will not pay for any damage sustained or reimbursement of SERVPRO costs which they told my realtor to avoid any further water and flooding to the house. They are very selective in being fair on insurance costs. Remediation Efforts are not covered by the fine print in the policy. USAA really disappointed me when I have lost over 2 years is rental income over issues that if USAA would have fair about I could have been back recovered alot sooner with having to give contractors the run around I got..

I have been with USAA for about 4 months to date...I have no good experiences to report other than the low prices they offer. The customer service sucks. No one's extension works, you have to talk to 6 different people in order to get the person your looking for! And the communication is none when it comes to filing a claim.

Usaa is a false advertising they say there for military and their families but that is a lie my grandfather was killed in WWII received the bronze star but my mother and I were not eligible also my father served in the navy was honorably discharged when he passed two years ago got full military honors burial but again was told I was not eligible. Have usaa auto, home, and life insurance. Tried placing auto claim for one accident that only involved myself and two adjusters changed up the claim to be 3 seperate claims. Ie.. three seperate deductibles. Totaling as much as what wanted to pay me for damages. So i just dropped the claim to prevent raise in monthly dues. And will begin shopping for new company. USAA - An insurance company, just like any other

I have had numerous bad experiences with USAA, the company that claims they "know what is means to serve". My recent event concerns medical claims as a result of my daughter crashing into a tree. The absurd amount of documentation required for reimbursement of her medical claims was sent and still, they want more. The entire process has never been explained clearly and I suspect that is intentional to try and limit your recovery or delay the process. I am frankly about to 'lawyer up'. Some 15 years ago USAA lost my mother's business after probably 50+ years of membership in a dispute over the valuation of her home. As I pointed out to the USAA representative at the time, "It is a modest home of $170K in value with the other $200K being her lot on some prime real estate. You are not insuring the lot." Of course, USAA wanted to maximize their profits and would not budge on the valuation of her property so she went with State Farm who totally agreed with her position on valuation. About 3-5 years before this event, USAA deducted some huge amount from a settlement for my Mom's hail damaged roof as 'depreciation'. A 3 year old roof is NOT depreciated! Insurance companies are in business to take your money, profit from it and they have no incentive, except customer retention, to give it back to you. They have lost this customer of 35+ years.

Worked for USAA for a short time...What a huge mistake. Guess you should be concerned when they spend a week trying to brainwash you into believing that they are reputable and value their employees. Worst company I ever worked for. All my respect for our military members, but the company isn't what it claims to be. Grateful not to have to go to that *** hole anymore. God bless our military members, and the American legal system. Litigation is sure to follow after the ignorance encountered. Have a claim against them? Fight for your claim, they will crumble and pay under the pressure. Truly spineless!

USAA will make you pay your huge deductible even when the other driver is found and fault and ticketed for the accident they caused! They are a rip off. The people there are not helpful at all. The only thing they are good for is cheap prices. Do not expect much from them. They are lazy and dishonest. Now I have to drive around in a car covered in scratches caused by a city bus driver. I am a permanently disabled Iraq vet. I feel very taken advantage of. Stay away from USAA, they are not the type of business you want to be involved with.

USAA is a rude lair!

My car was hit and run by an USAA insurer. I managed to follow her all the way home and called the police to get her info. When I filed the claim with USAA, the representative is cold, rude, and inpatient. Each time I am trying to follow up, their answer is like " I don't know", "we don't give out a timeline etc".Although I gave them a complete set of evidences of road photos, description of the accident, after waiting for 2 months and half, USAA's decision is only one sentence because its client told a different story, it refused to pay. Insurance company like USAA should be regulated!
