Think bigger. A letter stating you have sufficient funds leaves them wide open as qualifying you for the purchase.

If they write the letter and you decide to spend the money before the closing, they can now be exposed to legal consequences by the seller. They will not do that. They can only give facts.

Your banking balance is a fact.

You having sufficient funds is not a fact. They do not know your other obligations. No, the bank is not there to be manipulated by you.

They provide a very limited and regulated service. You are being unreasonable.

We've been banking with USAA for 31 plus years until recently. Someone called USAA and was able to breach all security protocols and transfer almost all our money in checking and savings out of our accounts into accounts not established in our transfer accounts profile.

Strange, there are complaints on this website about too many security questions on the phone from USAA. For your new bank, be sure to use two-factor authentication.

USAA - $ Transfers

As a customer for 60 years I see them care less and less about their veterans. The latest is they no longer transfer TO other institutions... to them, yes:( This by a bank who claims to honor and serve veterans! They also pay less interest than many other banks, such as the Federal Credit Union and the Navy Credit Union! Another customer service issue is their automated system, with it's many prompts, and when a live person is finally reached, too many times the have to ask their supervisor for answers! They try to switch customers to their web site to increase profits, not caring that senior veterans may need personal help!

USAA is not for the Military Service Member like they say they are! After I retired after 24 years of honorable service I struggled horribly USAA was not supportive, nor did they provide one bit of financial assistance to me. I kept them abreast weekly of my financial hardship and status of my diagnoses of being a disabled Veteran. I even updated them weekly on my VA claim status that accompanied my disability, they did not care one bit... They repossessed my vehicle, restricted access to my account which had the only funds I had. Keep in my bad I was a USAA member for 20 years and was never late on anything, not one time...I have seen all these commercials and testimonial about USAA well I am here to tell you when my family and I where struggling and I needed some assistance from them they did nothing to help me one bit! I now am a 100% disabled veteran and my VA claim finally is complete. I will never belong to USAA ever again nor will I recommend them to anyone. USAA really showed me their true colors in my time of need, they left me high and dry! My military service, bronze star and Purple Heart did not mean a dang thing to them!

After banking with USAA for more than 20 years, first couple of years never had any problems or issues at all. I don't know what is going on with them lately. Very disappointed. Their services are not great lately. There is absolutely no appreciation for their customers what so ever. I've had nothing but problems with their polite but unhelpful representatives who laugh in the background or while you are overheard on calls, checking services and account balances, stolen USAA credit card number several times per year. Found USAA had been reassigning the same "stolen" credit card number, allowing thieves to simply just wait for them to reuse the same credit card number at a later date if they wanted too. Checking account balances are always incorrect, legal office viewed my bank statements direct deposits going back several months and found separate payroll checks "listed" in the same month days back to back creating totally incorrect balances thereafter. You should be able to cancel a transfer. Wrong, no matter how many times you immediately call USAA or how terribly you or any other party involved is inconvenienced. It will not be cancelled. I don't know what to believe one representative stated they can cancel it and another said they could not. Will offer to assist you in processing another transfer on top of t/one already pending. Frozen funds. Auto Insurance, they know how to take your money but do not know how to "fairly" assist you when you need it. They are willing to spend more time assisting the other party than their own customer. Listed not at fault accidents as accidents that are your fault. Loans, you think after banking 20 years, show steady income you can take out a small loan less than $2,000-5,000.00 to maintain good credit, establish credit, build credit, you will be mislead t/entire process of the application and denied every single time. Apply for a credit card denied. Out of a military family of seven, one would think you adhere to everyone's complaints? Every last one has gone to a different banking institution for various reasons. If you are looking for a banking institution that appreciates your business, it's long term customer, ease processes during losses, honesty, simple assistance in fixing errors or representatives who do not intentionally complicate matters, looking for children to be treated any different than adults-no sometimes its worst as I have been told, this is not the bank for you and your family. I initially signed up with USAA because they had such high rating. Not at all angry, just really, really, really disappointed. My biggest mistake was to assume it will change after you express your concerns or remain a customer; the grandest mistake was such a waste of time to remain a loyal customer for two decades. There are other excellent banking institutions who actually appreciate their military members and their families, and customers and not just advertise it. When an even larger outside banking institution is willing to help a lot quicker than the individual who's banked with USAA for more than 30 years or their entire military career. It said a lot. Disappointed with USAA. For those who USAA worked out, that's awesome and I wish I could say the same. Thank you for websites like this. Maybe USAA will listen to all comments and concerns, and appreciate its customers in the future.

I deposit substantial amount of money into my account and transfer between family. My son just made a deposit into a joint account and they decided to hold everything but $200.00 I explained to them and still the service was so bad. not worth the trouble with this bank Horrible customer service. Managers mean absolutely nothing for the customers and have no authority to do anything in the mean time they couldn't even say that the charges that will be incurred are going to be covered by them. I have my son in college without the ability to access his funds on the account. Uncceptable.

I had fruad on my account as well back in August and they said I was at fault for the fruad because I had to have shared my account info. I told them how did I share my account info.

My debit card was used in Atlanta and I live in Tulsa. The person deposited checks for a total of $9000 and they then withdrew the checks from my account. At zero time was a hold placed on the deposited checks and the person was able to make a POS purchase for $2400 and 3 atm withdraws from my account for $800 each.

They made the withdraws 3 times in a row and at no time was I called or freeze put on my account instead they were able to do this the next day and as soon as I noticed the activity I called and reported it and then USAA turned around and made me a victim of the bank. Please people don't do business with these crooks.

If you put in your wrong pin number they will deny you access to your money in your bank account and will not let you even speak to anybody at the whole company. Process to undo that is 24 to 48 hours and you have to find your original Social Security card. Yes they won't even allow you to make a deposit or get any of your cash. They treat their 30 year members like criminals when they are the criminals holding your money.

USAA - Hold on Funds

Every week, sometimes multiple times a week, I transfer money in my USAA account from an external account. A few days ago, I made my normal external deposit into USAA. I logged into my account and there was a hold. I was never informed of the hold. And to make matters worse, the hold is for 9 days (more than 5 business days). I have about 6 accounts with USAA. All my accounts are in good standing, three accounts are savings. Representative told me to transfer money from savings into my checking if I were concerned about a check bouncing. USAA's service and products have gone down. I'm done. I keep most of my deposits at a local branch where I live. I think I will keep it that way. USAA has lost a big chunk of my business. I expect this from Bank of America or Wells Fargo, not USAA!
