Too many complications for us to help with this. If both vehicles were insured by USAA, they are even responsible for the deductibles.

Get your facts straight before trying to contact anyone. An attorney will not help.

USAA - Bad business practices

A person insured with USAA pulled out in front of my son and they have fought me all the way with not wanting to pay even though all the evidence points to it being their drivers fault. I have repeatedly called and left messages for the adjuster and a manager to call me back and they have not. They refuse to pay when they are at fault and won't talk to you about the situation.

Shouldn’t it be your insurance company dealing with USAA and not you? That’s what we had to do, call ours then they handle communications with the other.

Just a thought. Hope it works out for you. USAA communications are sorely lacking in most departments.

They have just been so rude and dismissive. I have asked to speak to the adjuster or a manager and have not got a return call. Customer service basically told me to stop calling.

I was rear ended after changing lanes. The other company was very aggressive from the day of the accident which was a Saturday. Did not speak to an assigned USAA adjuster until 4 days later and that was after calling them. USAA had my brother who is not even on the same policy as being the driver. Rear end accidents are almost always the fault of the rear driver. There are exceptions. USAA found me to be 100% at fault even though I was the car in front. There are 5 states with contributory negligence laws including my state. The law basically says that if the plaintiff (driver behind me) was more than 1% at fault they cannot get damages for injuries. Even though the other driver was doing at least the speed limit when he hit me he was speeding and/or not paying attention. Additionally one cannot change lanes (me) from being stopped in a second or two. But USAA believed the other driver and did not put up at fight at all. I asked for a manager review and got no response. The adjuster changed her story in writing after I challenged her decision. Only after I left a message on the USAA site did I get a call from a manager 2 days later that stated he reviewed the claim and the adjuster got it right. USAA needs to stop spending so much on tv commercials and spend more on training and customer service.

Yes I forgot a few details. The other driver has a commercial driver's license.

He was driving his personal car. I later confirmed that his insurance lapsed about 2 months before the accident.

USAA - Poor payment on medical claim

We had an accident in February....still argueing about settlement...But my complaint after 40 years with USAA is my medical claims. Submitted bill from emergency room at least four times...$40 was not paid as they needed the "code"!!!! I am having the exact issue you are having almost exact except my car was in 4 feet of flood water .my claim was submitted on 12-21-18 and hear it is the first week of march and iaa or iia who is supposed to pick the car up from the shop still has not done so i have sent the title in weeks ago. it took the sub contracted claims adjuster forever to come out just to take pics he came out Feb21 of this year when the claim i made was 12-21-18 and then took the guy another 4 days to get to the shop where they had it go to be taken apart to see how much damage was done by the water.

the guy deemed it a total loss that same day and here it is 2 weeks later no payment no nothing still paying insurance and was told the same as you about being back dated . let me also add that i did not get a rental until 2-21 so i went almost 2 months with no rental paying out of my own pocket. i have every conversation recorded like yourself , and going forward will record every conversation i have with usaa because they cannot be trusted anymore. i've been a customer for 10 plus years and in the past 3 to 4 years they have really gone downhill.

this is supposed to be a thank you for our service? what a kick in the *** I have now consulted a lawyer to protect myself.

I am not an auto adjuster, but I don't believe an auto insurance policy covers medical costs for the party who buys it. They will cover the injured party damaged auto and/or medical, if their insured party is liable, they generally will cover their own parties damaged vehicle and uninsured motorists if the other party is at fault and doesn't have insurance or enough insurance.

July 2nd I was rear-ended by USAA policy holder. I was at a red light when he quickly put on his breaks. He promptly called USAA and gave them all the information. That day USAA got me connected with a collision shop. They deamed it not driveable. USAA paid and got me a rental that day. The next week the collision shop estimates $8000 to fix my car. They submit estimate to USAA. I do not hear from them until the following week. USAA offers me $8500 for my car. That is $1000 dollars lower than I paid for it. I estimated my car was worth $8500 to $10000. They clearly gave me the lesser. By the time we settle its been almost three weeks. The whole time they have paid for rental car and then give it to me for four more days after settling. Over all the experience was okie as it was going to be. There was no fuss. It seemed cut and dry. Everyone I know is military or military related and have USAA. They all rave about them. Am I raving, no. I'm just giving my experience. Hopefully its helpful to someone.

For some reason this will not let me update. Overratedpigeon here, USAA has been slow sending my money since I last posted.

In fact they needed me to send in even more information but they failed to contact me I had to contact them.

So now I have to wait longer. On August 2nd it will be a month since the accident.

Because you never asked what would happen and ASSumed that if you whined and moaned enough they’d pay anything you wanted. Sorry pal.

Next time file with your own company. The other party’s insurance only owes you a check when their investigation is complete, not when you feel like it.
