I've given up dealing with them. It seems to be only the claims department as other people seem shocked that they are handling claims in such a cold-hearted manner with long-time members. They are just getting too big and when you expand your customer base beyond your...

Well, I was wrong! After my friends at the garage pulled all the damaged stuff out of the way, the metal plate part at the front corner of the passenger side frame, the part that the bumper and other parts attach to is bent.

But not the "frame" (rail) itself. An expert is going to look at it and if that extended part of the frame can be straightened, it might be recoverable. If not, I'll be parting the truck out and keeping certain improvements recently made to put into a replacement of approximately the same year and engine type.

Have talked with the Claims rep since then and things seem to be cordial again.

I have been dealing with these people myself. I am not a USAA member but I am the victim of a USAA insured driver who rear ended me in Feb 2016.

I was injured as a result and had some medical bills rack up in the amount of $5906.30. USAA accepted responsibility of all repairs to my vehicle and medical bills. After repeated failed attempts to contact the adjuster assigned to my claim for months after the wreck, I was able to make contact with another adjuster when the original adjuster was out of the office for a week. That adjuster and I came to an agreement to issue me a check for the amount of $6906.30.

She emailed me the Release Of All Claims contract, which I signed and faxed back that same day. About a week later, I received a check in the amount of $1000. I called the USAA number and by this time the original adjuster was back in the office. She told me that I wasn't getting the amount I had agreed to and that I was misinterpreting the Release Of All Claims agreement.

I had an attorney friend of mine take a look at the agreement and was told that USAA was in breach of contract and acting in bad faith. I went back and forth with these USAA crooks for weeks being lied to by the adjuster and management telling me one minute that they were sending me my money and then the next minute telling me I wasn't getting another dime and to contact an attorney if i wanted to. So, I contacted the BBB and Illinois Department Of Insurance instead. Both were fast to take my issue with USAA seriously.

The BBB contacted them right away and I was contacted by an advocate from USAA the day after making my complaint to the BBB. She informed me that their legal department was reviewing my claim. After a few days, the advocate called me back and told me that they issued me a check for the remainder of what was owed. These people are liars and thieves.

If I wouldn't have pursued then as aggressively as I did, they would have gotten away with not paying me. So, don't sit back and let this big company rob you!

I filed a claim against one of their insured. The insured gave me the wrong name, walked away from the accident and lied to USAA about how the accident occurred. The damage to my vehicle clearly indicated their insured had lied. The claim agents accused me of not being the driver and then proceed to talk in circles, not answer the questions, would not help me, insisted the driver did not make a statement and then listed me as liable. USAA agents refused to work with me. I had no collision and lost 2500 in damages. I left numerous messages to counter the accusations only to be met with the same behavior. Their insistence they had no driver report. Buce Mercado was the driver. Great lie............I will pursue this.

USAA - Terrible Service

I have been a customer of USAA for over 40 years - yes, FORTY years. We finally had to file a claim when someone crashed into our parked car. They did NOTHING. I had to make three calls to get one return call back & the net result was that they weren't going to assist us because we didn't have collision coverage on that car. What a waste of time! I even asked that question upfront when I first called them: if we have no collision should I even bother to file a claim. Of course they wanted us to file a claim so they could see if there was some way they could raise our rates. And then the claims adjuster had the nerve to tell me - TWICE - how USAA is here to help! I told him that they were of no help whatsoever. Then he says since this was not our fault it wouldn't affect our rates. I incredulously told him "I should hope not!" Run, don't walk away from the poor service of this company. My New Year's Resolution: make sure I am not a 41 year customer of USAA.

USAA mistakenly deposited MY auto claim refund into my ex-husband DAVID GIDION MCGEHEE's bank account for $12k!!! This LYING, CHEATING PERSON has benefited from a single mother's horrific auto accident by using the award claim towards; a new vehicle he didn't need, {{Redacted}} concerts & other very frivolous purchases above paying child support for his 3 children. Way to go USAA for letting a bad guy "win."

Wrong. This mistake was on you for not verifying that the bank account was correct.

Computers control these days, and are not going to make a mistake. A person has to be in charge of correcting the computer, in advance.

The largest insurance companies have now moved to online claim processes. The use of photos and a detailed estimate is the standard resource for handling claims.

These companies are laying off field claim representatives by the thousands. Technology has taken over and they have no plans to slow down this practice. It is saving them millions of dollars.

In your case, I would bet the body shop's estimate included new parts or replacement of parts.

The insurance company only agreed to used parts and/or repair of damage, rather than full replacement. Again, now standard practice.

The reps aren't going to bend on this and they don't need to put a highly paid estimator into the field to see what a series of photos and a professional estimate will tell them.

This decision has nothing to do with your career or service.

It has everything to do with managing their costs.

USAA - Collateral Damage to Travel Trailer

It has been nearly a month since I submitted my claim for damage to the underside of my travel trailer to USAA. Since that time I cannot get the process moving. No one at USAA wants to take responsibility for moving the claims process along. It seems that USAA has skimped in two areas: 1) They do not have theri own adjusters here in Montana and 2) I'm not sure where they have their own customer service agents, I wanted to discuss the issue with a centralized customer service responsible to corporate, but that benefit doesn't exist. I am totally frustrated and as soon as the claim is resolved, I plan on changing insurance companies to a more responsive company like AARP-Hartford who I left to join USAA.

So were are driving on the freeway going home with pizza and the SUV slightly ahead of us in the lane to our right, drifts right into the front of our '91 Chevy utility truck. It swivels to the left, like it was in a pit maneuver, it hits all sides of the front of our truck before colliding into the freeway divider wall to our left. Not our fault. They have USAA. We start a claim after getting two estimates (one costing us $26!). Luckily one of the claims was with a shop in their trusted circle so we are all set to get it towed to the shop but then the shop wont take our vehicle because they claim USAA hasnt paid them yet. I call USAA, who claims they havent gotten the shops uploaded estimate yet. On the second phone call to USAA they say that our trucks blue book value isnt even half as much as the estimate is and they are not going to pay for it to get repaired. If they do pay us what ever amount they come up with (under Kelly's Blue Book amount of $1600) they will be changing our title to a salvaged vehicle title making it impossible to sell. How can they do that? Their client caused $5000 worth of damage to our work vehicle. It should not matter what the vehicle is worth (priceless to us-it saved our lives and gets us to work and keeps all our tools safe and convenient on the job) we did nothing wrong! They should pay for the damage they caused! This makes no sense in my head! I can only imagine what kind of *** they're going to pull with my medical claim. Can they do that? Make our beloved truck turn to a cheap pile of rubbish? It still runs they just have to replace the hood, fenders, bumper, grill and a tire. How can they change our title? it sickens me to think how these greedy insurance companies get away with taking our money every month and jipping us when we need them. They are not doing what we pay them to do, how do they get away with it?

This is standard practice. No insurance company owes any more than the actual cash value of the vehicle.

If the damages exceed the value or come within approximately 75% of the value, you'll only be entitled to the actual cash value.

Period.

It's referred to as a "total loss".

Fortunately I am not a policy holder with USAA, however unfortunately my parked vehicle was hit by a USAA member 1 week ago. Each call to 210-531-8722 gives you a different rep. The original adjuster I spoke with last Thursday, has not returned my call, though I have left her several messages. I'm still waiting on a manager to call per my request 3 days ago. This morning I spoke with a Rep whom advised "everything is fine" I can now proceed with taking my car to the repair shop and I was provided with a confirmation # for a rental. I get to repair shop, attendee calls USAA for confirmation or acknowledgement of liability and was told the person whom spoke with me was incorrect, as their investigation is not completed and she is deleting the rental confirmation and advised attendee to let me know they will get in touch when they complete investigation !!!!!!!!!! UNREAL !!!!!! and this is just a tad of the misinformation and lousy telephone etiquette I have had to deal with. I would not recommend this company to my enemy.

Insurance companies have a contract with their insured to defend and protect them. The law in every state protects them and allows them weeks and months to investigate and determine liability.

They will not accept liability until they have discussed with their insured and completed their full investigation.

Why haven't you involved your company that is contracted with you to protect and defend you? No matter the company, this is how it works.
