USAA - No Help for Accident Victim

My wife was in a car accident in November 2017; hit from behind at a traffic light. That night, after vomiting for 3 hours, I took her to the hospital for a CAT scan, MRI etc which revealed severe trauma and nerve compressions in the neck and back as a result of the accident. After meeting with several doctors, she completed 24 sessions of therapy with no improvement. Her neurologist is recommending a milogram to identify the source of the problem but USAA is refusing to allow her to have the test because their 3rd party doctors (who don't even see you in person) claim it is unnecessary. She has been in chronic pain for 6 months and they won't even pay for a basic test. I'm sure if it was for a spouse or child of their's, it would be covered with out a problem. But all accident victims are just trying to 'get rich' and aren't really hurt at all. They are a cruel and insensitive organization that needs to be exposed for the frauds they are!

Horrible service to members, treat you like a criminal after 1 claim for hit and run totaling $3400 and could care less if been member for 20 years, but will take your premiums. Not the same company it was when I joined in Army.

Those letters you showed us ARE the acknowledgement.

The status letter they sent you (twice) is why they have more than 45 days. I bet you did something extra dumb for your claim to take that long.

My son is military. He had an accident in dec.

They told him his policy was cancelled. Took a massive payment over the phone and told him. Sorry it won't be covered. Claimed they sent a letter.

Never got one. He had automatic payment. They claim he doesn't. They also don't show a lein holder.

So in the event of cancellation they would notify the lender for forced coverage.

So basically they take his money and leave him screwed. Hiring a lawyer and filing a complaint with the Military and the Federal Government.

USAA - The worst

This is the worst insuarance company ever. They were clearly at fault for an accident, which the police report clearly showed, but the adjuster by the name of Kristy Martin nevertheless split the fault. How can one explain this? USAA won't, they just say their way and give no explanation or reasoning behind their solution.

USAA - Totally ignored by Ussa rep after settlement agreement

Was in a accident while riding in a cab that was covered by this company on 12/25/2016. We agreed on a settlement on 02/19/2018, still have not received my check and the person handling this claim will not take or return my calls even contacted her supervisor and still no answer or even the curriculum of a return call. I am now filling a complaint with the BBB and also planning on contacting the media and get them involved. I was injured pretty bad in this accident and it still don't compare to the treatment this company is doing. WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO PAY ME?

Got Hit in the Back by a USAA Member and not get support

The USAA representative handling my case said she has to get in contact with her consumer first before she can paid for my car to get fixed. It has been three weeks now and apparently they are not able to get in contact with their client. In the meantime I am driving a car that need repairs and when I call I am never able to get this representative and instead get people with nasty attitudes saying they will let me know when they contact their client and they don't know how long this will be. This was a simple hit in the back case and should not take this long. I submitted the police report to them about three weeks ago as well. It is terrible that they are this slow and then have attitudes when victims call to try to get an update. I am in the military and I hate that this suppose to be an company that represents the military and their families.

I am having the exact issue you are having almost exact except my car was in 4 feet of flood water .my claim was submitted on 12-21-18 and hear it is the first week of march and iaa or iia who is supposed to pick the car up from the shop still has not done so i have sent the title in weeks ago. it took the sub contracted claims adjuster forever to come out just to take pics he came out Feb21 of this year when the claim i made was 12-21-18 and then took the guy another 4 days to get to the shop where they had it go to be taken apart to see how much damage was done by the water.

the guy deemed it a total loss that same day and here it is 2 weeks later no payment no nothing still paying insurance and was told the same as you about being back dated . let me also add that i did not get a rental until 2-21 so i went almost 2 months with no rental paying out of my own pocket. i now record every conversation i have with usaa because they cannot be trusted anymore. i've been a customer for 10 plus years and in the past 3 to 4 years they have really gone downhill.

Was stopped at stop light was rear ended by one of their "INSURED" on 1/26/2018 was not contacted by USAA until after I called them about a week and a half later said that they had no contact info, all on the police report (DUH)Was told to take it to one of their body shop refused. They wanted me to go get estimates, why should I have to do any work, to this date 3 weeks later HAVE not seen their adjuster. The person that is suppose to be handling my case is "NEVER AVAILABLE to handle my call she "ALWAYS" has to return a call. I am trying to settle this without getting a lawyer involved but USAA is really leaving me no choice. I don't have time for the back and forth I have more pressing issues. I really don't understand why I am even writing this review because I feel that this will not HELP" them to get their acts together, since they already have more that 2,000 pissed off customer with over 2000 negative reviews. My advice is talk with your wallet that is the only way to get their attention. I feel sorry for their MEMBERS but I am even more SORRIER for all of the drivers who gets into accidents with USSA members we are treated likeS..T GUILTY until proven innocent. Public relation dept "SUCKS" marketing dept full is "FLUFF".

I am going through the same thing right now. USAA notified my insurance company that they did accept liability for the accident, but I have yet to hear from the claims adjuster.

It's been 2 and a half weeks.

I call and leave messages, but never get a response. Seriously?

You do realize that typically the insurance company has to order the police report. The adjuster can't hop up and just walk down to the police station to get a copy?

Why didn't you call them. You're a lazy, entitled whiner. How dare the adjuster be on the phone helping someone else...

you should definitely pay a lawyer to help you. That way you can pay for the help and lose it out of any money you receive.

USAA - Worst Claim Service Ever

As a claimant of a USAA insured I experienced the worst claims service ever! USAA made every attempt to make me have may car repaired at their preferred collision repair. On one call I requested to speak to a supervisor and a claims adjustor actually told me that he didn't have a supervisor. Go figure! No matter the time or day, wait times to talk to someone were substantial and after I reached someone I was often placed on hold so they could research the claim. Nobody had any idea what was going on. One claims adjustor would tell me one thing and another adjustor would tell me something totally different. My car was totaled and they never reached out to me. I always had to initiate contact. It took over a month to resolve the claim. I hope I never get hit by another USAA insured again! Miserable experience!

USAA shouldn't be in California

I got t boned by a USAA insured 19 yr old that crossed a double yellow line because she didn't feel she had to wait in traffic line to get to a left turn lane ahead of her. She crossed into opposing traffic direction and hit me when i had the right of way. Pictures were immediately taken of scene as I was trained over my 49 yrs of life. USAA has played so many games with my Lawyer and I its not funny Being disabled from birth also makes no difference to USAA. Even though USAA insured was cited for a felony , crossing a double yellow line to cause bodily injury to me , USAA doesn't care for this disabled persons rights to travel lawfully on California roadways. USAA is a despicable company and shouldn't be able to write policies in CA 10 months and USAA still won't provide my Lawyer with their own Insured policy DECLARATION.. 10 MONTHS NO POLICY DECLARATION.

I was hit by a drunk driver 20 years ago.Drunk driver no insurance, 3rd offense suspended license for him also. USAA was slow to pay even part the claim had to get lawyer against my own insurance company USAA. Filed claim under under insured or no insurance . Car was never repaired correct with USAA recommended body shop. Shortly after this they canceled my insurance policy, back then this was allowed to cancel, not now. You get what you pay for. Seems after 20 years reading again they are even worse now. They will never get any of my money again or anyone in my family. Retired USAF
