My phones are off, my family is losing money for work, we can’t be reached in an emergency, we can’t buy food all because usaa has put a 10 day hold on our money! The deposit done on mobile because the closest usaa is 3 states away. The check was a refund check, completely cleared just usaa saying they have the right to hold it!

USAA - New Member experience

signed up online and became a member of USAA based on my father's service. After all the steps to become a member, I get an email that based on the information provided, I did not qualify to be a member. Why waste my time then? I called USAA because the email of course did not explain why I didn't qualify. Turns out I did not qualify because USAA does not honor past military experience of parents who died without becoming USAA members themselves. So much for honoring military veterans....

Charges take days to post on your account always showing inaccurate balance. I personally went back to Chase Bank, it offers free military account, free money orders and checks. The only benefit I received from USSA was getting paid a day early, but I can wait another day rather than put up with all the headaches USAA...

I have registered complaints about USAA Bill Pay Service for two years. I have communicated by email, telephone, fax, and US mail.

Today I called USAA to notify them that for the second month in a row my payment to Dominion Energy has not arrived. The representative I spoke with was less than interested and essentially told me there was nothing USAA could do and that it is not USAA's fault. The check was written and sent out on time and they have no control over when the check arrives. He attempted to pass blame on to Dominion stating maybe they received the check and it takes time for them to process it.

He added that over the last couple of months, instead of paying Dominion electronically, they are now using paper checks. Odd, yes, stopping what works, and using a less efficient means to pay their customers bills. USAA's customer service has deteriorated over the pass several years. USAA is failing with their commitment to provide excellent service.

USAA now limits the types of emails they will accept from their customers. Therefore, customers must telephone USAA. With all the technology available, USAA keeps their customers at arms length.

Most companies today accept emails from their customers. PENFED here I come.

I set a checking and savings account. I decided to deposit a check I got from a family member through the app. A week later I was blocked from my account!!! I had to call multiple time to found out why and most the time the would just say USAA is done doing business with you and your accounts will be closed and money sent to you in 60 days! I’m glad I have another bank or else anyone else would be 100% screwed!!!!!

I have not been with USAA for 50 years, but I have for 49!

I have always been an advocate, except when I, finally, started analyzing how well the company was doing, including paying off on auto insurance. I am so stupid that I did not leave years ago.

Started about a year or so ago. USAA started prioritizing payments and debits to benefit them. So it would send me into the negative because they would hold onto bigger debits. Fees upon fees upon fees. Then I purchase something in July and it is debited from my account. Then a month later it is debited again. USAA said it was the retailers fault and that it wasn't them. Retailer said it was USAA fault, they got the money immediately. SO USAA held onto that debit and removed it when that account was empty. Then I disputed it, they deemed themselves not at fault despite evidence. Poor poor customer service. I can't even tell you about the insurance side of things as it is still all happening. Lets just say this company has become all about money and not about helping the veteran, service member or their family.

This is standard for all banks. Easy solution is to not spend it if you don't have it.

It's simple and you don't have to worry about pending transactions and other nonsense you whine about. If you have $100.00 in the bank, don't spend more than that hoping that a deposit will beat the debits. This is stupid at best to expect this to work. It's even more stupid when you continue to do this after getting burned the first time.

It's a shame they no longer teach basic home finance in schools these days. I'm sure you would benefit from such a course.

So maybe you should take your stupid comments to someone who is stupid enough to listen to you. Read the usaa comments. It’s been a common practice from them lately and it’s wrong. I fought for my country.

I deserve better service.

Subject: USAA Cannot determine my annual payments Today, I was informed that USAA cannot provide any member at any time the amount of payments in a given year. As a former CEO, I cannot imagine that any company, no less USAA, does not maintain customer account information which must be provided annually in any case regardless of a fiscal or calendar year accounting. Here is the telephonic message I receive. Please note that my “accounting professional” who is a former IRS official requested the information in the first place to complete my 2017 tax return. Although my policy start date is May I pay premiums all year but apparently your company which receives that money does not know what that amount is. I have never heard of that in my life! From USAA: “Hello, my name is Janelle. I am a manager from USAA. I am calling for Mr. Michael . Mr. Michal , I was speaking with my representative Sierra regarding the premium information you have requested and I do need to confirm with you that we are unable to provide the exact premiums you paid from the start of 2017 to the end of the year. We cannot provide the annual premium amounts for your policy because we are not licensed tax professionals. We will need you to take your policies and your premium amounts to a tax professional and have them calculate that for you. If you have any other questions, give me a call at ext. . Again, this is Janelle with USAA insurance.
