Rate Increase

Do USAA just did a 25% across the board rate increase on car insurance. Then they come up on their website and pound their chests about donating $30,000,000 to charity. So the bottom line being the bottom line, they raised rates on the insured and then gave the money away to charity, so they could look good. Sound familiar, take money from working people and give it to people who don't work...USAA = Democrats. I did get a quote from GEICO for the exact same policy and it was $500 cheaper over the years time. Goodbye USAA!!!!

User's recommendation: Use GEICO...way cheaper for the same car insurance. Use Armed Forces, way cheaper for better home owners insurance!!!

Do not honor their own policy

Been with USAA for over a decade. Have a Renters Protection Policy as a part of my Renter's Insurance. During my covered period, experienced a loss of use of my residence from a covered incident and during this pandemic. I was told to stay with someone. If they feel breaking their contract is more cost-efficient than helping you, you're screwed.

USAA is not sending our PIP checks and settlement check and it is thring to blame it on the USPS

USAA is not the company you see on TV we have to take them to court 2 times now in order to get them to pay as in my policy states in Michigan we have unlimited medical personl injury protection they stall and stall and really are not the company protracted on the TV a actors , if you are a USAA client and get in a bad accident you better get a very good attorney !

They cheat their members

Had a claim for a water issue which we claimed,r they destroyed our things and stole our property. They paid some but didn't get the home fixed as stated in our policy. They tried to nickel and dime us and very poor customer service and we had been members for 44 years. They are criminals and should be run out of the insurance business. I have read the reviews and believe these other folks because what they said happened to us as well. Folks run away from this criminal enterprises and shut them down.

Cannot get through

I have been with USAA since 1963 and I am so unhappy with the company now. USAA used to be so good and had gone downhill in recent years. All I can presume is that it got too big for its britches. Maybe this started after it opened up having more people/enlisted join. It is hard to get through to anyone anytime that I call. USAA had made multiple mistakes with my credit cards and other mistakes. I have been on hold for hours and that is not unusual. It cannot be blamed on the covid 19. My husband died a hero and I am sure that he is turning over in his grave.

User's recommendation: Unfortunately USAA has gone downhill in the years since we first got with the company. Our first year was 1963. Now, my credit cards have been messed up, couldn’t get an adjuster after car wreck or after tornado took roof. etc. It was ridiculous so be sure to compare.

I've been a member for over 40 years and am now caught in the hold do-loop, this time for over 30 minutes. ( They did suggest I try to leverage their online services-- sweet Jesus. I remember when you used to call USAA and a real person answered the phone by the third ring and actually acted as if they were happy to help you. Now, if you ever do get to a real person, the responses are borderline rude,) The happy ads you see on TV trying to suck in new members reflect a world that has long since disappeared from USAA. My next job is going to be starting to look for a new carrier for my insurance. Disgust is the only word that applies to the way I feel about a company that I once respected .

Hopefully this issue has been resolved for you. I am going to the same grief.

It's been four months since my spouse died and I cannot get USAA to drop my husband from our accounts and add my children. as payable upon death (POD). I have spent days and many hours on the phone talking to numerous representatives and filling out many forms, most of them duplication of my previous efforts. They all talk a good story and promise it will be taken care of but it is never resolved.

Their process is broken. I cannot help to wonder how many other people are experiencing the same problem.

I suspect many of them are not aware and are assuming their accounts were correctly updated. USAA is not what it used to be!

Poor Customer Protection

I ordered a product and the wrong product was delivered. The company would not refund or replace after I sent the wrong product back. I filed a claim and USAA denied. They allowed a company to steal almost 400 from me. I never received the correct product. Do not get a card from USAA because you will have no protection as a customer. USAA used to be a good company but it is not anymore. They take advantage of service members and there families.

Banking SUCKS - they don't honor stop payments

While I've had good experiences with the insurance part of USAA, the banking has been really bad. Their customer service is truly horrific at times. Today is another time when I called perfectly calm needing help and here I am 1.5H into calls and on my third rep trying to get an unauthorized charge reversed and my anger is through the roof! It was a company I'd placed a stop payment against after they kept putting payments through even though they were included in my Chapter 13 bankruptcy. They have misunderstood and, at times, lied to me throughout these calls. They truly don't care about their banking customers and do very little to help even when THEY caused part of the problem by allowing a debit charge even though a stop payment order was already in place.

User's recommendation: Just don't. Try to find a credit union or a local bank.

Chapter 13 is one of the many instances when a person needs to change to a different bank, not just a new account.

Bad claim service. Just another Military rip off

Claim service very slow. Their job is not to pay any claim if possible and they do their job very well. quite a bit of my roof blew away in a bad rain and wind storm. Water was pouring out of my ceiling light fixture and all over our floor.Roof and ceiling was damaged. I made a claim and it took them a month to finally send an adjuster out. All they wanted to do was replace all of the missing shingles with shingles that would not match. Since the shingles and the painting of the ceiling was less that my deductible they wouldn't pay a thing to make things right again. I did not want a miss matched patch job on my roof and they just didn't care. After my experience with USAA i found out all i had was a premium to pay and did not have insurance at all. I replaced the roof at my own expense.I started looking for another insurance company. i had several agents come out and all of them couldn't believe what USAA did to me. i am now with a local company. After 22 years in the service i have come across many military rip off places and USAA is among one of them. Do not believe any of their tv ads. They do not care for the military at all. We are just easy targets for them.I am not the only one they have dont things like this to. I have talked to other veterans that have had similar problems with USAA also. Don't walk away but run away from this insurance company.

Refused to pay for a windshield replacement after using USAA for 19 years. Dropped all of my auto insurance, home, and banking. All over $400, was moving between states and the previous state covered this, following the move I filed and they refused to pay.... I moved all my insurance and banking, making 6% interest on banking and saving $80 per month in all insurances.

Have always loved USAA and their banking/insurance products. Their mortgage product is crap for lack of a better word. Can never get in touch with loan officer, they wait until last minute to process things and will not return phone calls or emails. Go with anyone besides USAA for your mortgage. I hate to say it because I'm not a Wells Fargo fan, but their mortgage process is much better. Will never use USAA for housing/mortgage again.

I have nothing but trouble signing into my account, when you think you and I have worked it out right back to the same situation each and every time I sign in. Your system leaves a serious bad image on my mind. As stated to your so called customer service personnel..if this continues I would just leave it with snail mail..at least there I know were the trail will lead.and a payment will get there. when your commercials come on I switch the channel or just laugh knowing its all fine and dandy, but a joke in commercialism. for your product......I just don't know how others have no issues, but I know Iam not the only one...but it continues with me my account and you... saying I am not smart enough to understand the problem when its so simple to just follow instructions.....which I have ...and still come up with the same results...Iam venting, but Iam NOT happy.......one last thing, your not open when ever I call..because like banks...its 9 to 5, and close on the dot
