Rejected 3 days before scheduled closing after spending 3K

USAA has the worst mortgage department and has lost all of their goodwill from a 40 year USAA member. You must complain to the people you wish to complain about. Just try to complain and reach friendly CEO Joe. Does he know what horrible way members are treated? Does he know that it is impossible to switch processors? Does he know that they loose paperwork, emails and refuse to return calls? Does he know that after spending $3,000. that they required for the loan that they rejected the loan due to debt to income and lied about it? Buyer Beware and Runaway from this sham-- veterans deserve better treatment.

Feel your pain because we are in deep pain, our pre approval load was rejected on the day after USAA scheduled close date after we spent $5k. USAA mortgage services, it is a juck, provided all documents for our PRE APPROVAL loan 6 weeks before scheduled close date, we were told the underwriter was reviewing our documents and no problems on our qulification, but suddenly on the scheduled close date, asked us to provide same documents, less 4 hours later, told us the loan had been denied due to too much business revenue increase, what? because our business is growing, so we were not qualified the loan, is this a joke?, left messages, no calling back, emails, no returns, complain to CEO member relationship team, another a juck, a group of computerlized human trash, and a group of liers.

Guest

USAA tried to screw us over too, 5 days before closing!! They told us we were denied due to debt?income ratio and it was a lie!

Processor didnt know what he was doing, was caught in a million lies, then just quit returning phone calls to us altogether...

we withdrew our application from Usaa and went through Garrison Foster at VAmortgagecenter.com He was awesome!! Saved the deal that USAA almost ruined and closed our loan in record time!!

Guest

We have been trying to get a loan through USAA since May of this year. Now, they finally declined our loan 8 days before closing, because our "home owners insurance policy quote was more than initally quoted".

We only gave them one quote, and it was 2 weeks ago! Now, all of a sudden, its a problem that we were not able to even try to resolve-they just denied it!

Guest

Samething just happened to me the DAY OF closing.

Horrible Mortgage Service

Absolutely horrible Mortgage Service. I have been a member for over 10 years for various insurance and banking services. However, my experience with the mortgage dept. Is one of ineptness, lack of any professionalism, or response to client services. I am 2 days past closing & not even near underwriting after my family and I drove across 4 states when our processor told us 3 days before closing "everything is on schedule." This processor does not return calls and neither does her manager or supervisor. Neither individual responds to client services to respond to a call or return messages. I am now dealing directly with executive resolution services without any change in the mortgage processor or supervisors attitude. These two still do not return my realtor's or my calls & e-mails after executive resolution services asks them to. Do not use their MORTGAGE SERVICE unless you hate yourself and don't mind throwing your money and time out the window.

They act like they are doing you some kind of favor for doing business with you. I was never a day late on any of my payments but they wouldn't let me refi because I am 15% underwater. I wish I was the kind of person to walk away from my loan just to screw them.

Guest

We've been working on a VA Streamline loan. It is now 3 business days away from closing.

We have made multiple phone calls & emails for several weeks now regarding erroneous fees on the streamline loan. We have not heard back from out mortgage processor via phone nor email regarding our specific concerns.

This is more than frustrating! Looks like we won't be signing paperwork at closing as planned!

Guest

This is still an ongoing problem and it is now October and I am in the same boat as all of you are. The movers advantage is just the opposite.

A huge disadvantage. I have come to feel that USAA is piggy backing on the backs of military members creating them to think they are part of some special fraternity of a bank with USAA and that they can do better than anyone out there. It is not true. Military members: Just know there are other options out there and do not assume that USAA will take care of everything, they are usually more expensive on all insurance as well and twice the hassle to deal with.

I have been a member for over ten years and have seen and felt the change with them towards customers. It is quite sad.

Guest

I had a purchase contract on the 11 April and a closing date of 27 May. After sending the same paperwork multiple times, I got fustrated and change lenders 8 days before closing.

Shawna Bywater from Ifreedom direct closed my loan on the 27th as scheduled.

I believe my loan processer at USAA was very professional but overwhelmed. Everyone's situation is a different but a good loan officer makes a BIG difference to your wallet and peace of mind.

Guest

we are now past closing.no return calls from USAA. only requests for info we already submitted. we will be yanking our accounts from them.

Guest

Ditto what Don C said. 4 days past closing with no idea what is going on.

Phone calls and emails aren't returned.

Talking with supervisor and changing processors didn't help at all. DO NOT use USAA unless you want lots of headaches - lots!

USAA insurance So Very Unethical

I sometimes wonder how do the employees at USAA sleep at night. No conscience whatsoever. I wonder if they would like to be treated the way they treat people. Heartless..i was screamed at yelled at just for simply asking for my rights. I have nightmares dealing with this company after my auto accident with a USAA driver who was not paying attention..they refuse to acknowledge problems pertaining to the accident which is obvious. I am thinking of a class action lawsuit this is a 31 billion dollar company and they should step up to the plate and do what is right. Treat people with respect.

D/L 5/15/17 LOC: PUNTA, GORDA,FL Mishandling of this accident caused much anguish and frustration. The claim was paid before all facts were in.

I am USSAs insured atthe time and my cout date was 8/24/17.

no one helped me at time of accident or with this ridiculous subrogation not to be hwld until all info was available. My experience with USSAis not good, Am fightingfor my rights...

I work for USAA and since being employed there I think the company has gone downhill esp considering the amount of complaint calls taken. Also, I wish they would treat employees better.

Once I submitted a time off request 6 to 7 months in advance and still was told no.

In addition considering how much work is put on us we are given very little time to do it as they think answering phones all day solves everything. Very disappointing.

Yeah, lawsuits solve everything, especially negligence. Not everything can be peachy keen and only one side of the story does not tell it all.

USAA is rated number one in customer service by Consumer Reports (non-biased). Cheers!

We were involved in an Automobile accident and the other driver had USAA. Our Insurance company, Geico treated us wonderfully and even went out of their way to help the other driver. The other driver didn't have Rental coverage so Geico paid for their rental car. They claimed that both passengers cell phones were broken in the accident and Geico paid them $100 each for the replacement.

Then, several months later we received a letter directly from them saying we we liable for almost $2000 in non-covered costs and that we MUST send them a certified check within 15 days. We called Geico and found out that they had already agreed to the amount paid. Geico contacted them and they said "Sorry, that is just a form letter that goes out." Geico says that they have seen this happen before and the client was never able to get their money back.

We will stay with Geico and we will aggressively tell other people in our Military community to avoid USAA at all costs.

I lost everything to an apartment fire and they deposited the full amount of my coverage almost overnight once the fire report got to them. Then a few weeks later in our new place we had a bunch of stuff stolen.

Couldn't believe how courteous and caring they were. Was I really dealing with a company?

Felt like "mom" was making everything better! They definitely understand the unique needs of the military

USAA TOTALLY INEPT for Home MORTGAGE!!!!

RUN RUN RUN...Totally inept.... 1)Delayed builder by 6 weeks because they did not communicate at all!2)Did not give 'good faith advice' on locking interest rate (somewhat subjective here) 3)Did not order the appraisal on time (despite that we requested 20 workdays ahead of time) they delayed until August 30th, delaying our closing.... 4) Per our contract Builder can hold house for 10 days from close (penalized each day of course) and IF we do not close (ie delayed from USAA), then we lose $10,000 earnest money(which is HIGHLY likely to happen). RUN RUN RUN from USAA mortgage.... Insurance is good but the home loan department is ABSOLUTELY WORTHELESS!!!! What we will be doing *Filing a complaint with the VA *Suing USAA for 'breach of good faith' lending standards *Perhaps suing under Fair Housing act of 1969 *Seeking Punitive damages for lost earnest money *I do not care IF I win or NOT; it is the principle!!!!! *Never sued anyone before PS: long military family (on both sides) ANYONE FOR A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT? jnm1077@***.com

Refinanced loan-USAA, they sold to Ban1 and that sold to Freddie Mac within 2 mos .

I am just furious and feel betrayed by this company I have been with since 1963....and a bank since its opening in San Antonio. And I don't know that anyone can do a thing about it but it is so wrong. If I had wanted my home mortage with Freddie Mac, I could have found another way and at less cost but I hate the whole idea of being into another government agency and espeically this one that was so food of crooks and greed. My husband died of Agent Orange Cancer from 22 years in Army and Viet Name, and he would be appalled at this major sell out of USAA to the current government "system" that is no longer' " of the people" as far as I am concerned. With Obama's feelings about our military so apparent I feel this is a 'sell out 'and I am really angry about this.

Please review your paperwork. USAA only finances with certain banks and those banks are not allowed to sell these loans.

Now these banks may try to get you to refinance through them alone and exclude USAA. Not sure what BAN1 is, but it is not a USAA provider

USAA Denied Life Insurance

I just got the letter denying me coverage for life insurance based upon my diagnosis of PTSD.

So here we have a organization that proclaims it supports the military, its roots are founded in the military and its membership is pre...dominately military. HELLOOOOO, what do you think the military does??

We go to war and we fight....some of us see things and do things that will have a lasting impression and live with us for the rest of our lives. Well USAA as you have "regretfully informed me that you cannot offer me coverage" I regretfully inform you I can no longer be your customer. Thanks for nothing USAA.

Over 20 years with this bank...not for long.I'll be moving my banking to an organization that truly supports the military. You dropped the ball on this one USAA.

So how does a veteran with disabilities and PTSD get whole life insurance. Has anyone found a company that will allow coverage.

USAA let me down. They didn't even have the decency to call and explain why I was denied. I received a message saying a decision has made, and I would receive more information in 7 to 10 business days. I wish I would gotten life insurance when I was younger.

My parents told me I already had coverage and didn't need to apply. Three years ago they cancelled my plan and didn't tell me until a few months ago.

Guest

I just receive the saddly news at the phone from a USAA representative that I don't qualify for a life insurance.

As a Soldier, as a Veteran, as a Retired and as a Father I couldn't feel more sad and disappointed from a Bank/Organization that identified itself as a Military Supporter.

It is unfortunate to feel

so left behind by USAA for been a Veteran with PTSD Total and Permanent. Thanks God for the VA Administracion and Military Organizations that every day fight the discrimination that we go through.

Guest

I also have been denied Life Insurance by numerous companies because of PTSD, it goes to show how much we really care about our TROOPS, I am being disappointed everyday about this situation. PEOPLE as mentioned above we go to war and we see and do things that we are not so proud off but its our JOBS our DUTIES and our COMMITMENT to this Country and when it comes the time to receive it back so that we can guarantee something for our families, we are LIABILITIES, well the reason we are Liabilities is because we put our lives in the front line to fight for what you call FREEDOM.

where is our FREEDOM?

Mine is an ease of mind knowing that if something was to happen to me that my family would be ok and my kids college funds would be paid for.

Thanks a lot......

very respectfully

MM

Yes the same thing happen to me. Did you find any insurance.

My name is Rogers. rogersdavida05@***.com

Ya know it shouldn't be based on WHAT condition you have but if you're actually STABLE (as in not going in and out of hospital for suicide attempts or thoughts. Personally if they can deny just based off a condition then we can deny them business just because they don't take a look into the individual issues that might be the real factor, ptsd doesn't kill people or everyone with ptsd would already be dead within so many years of being "diagnosed" :roll

Guest

i have ptsd i love my country and family i have been denied life insurance because of a traject time in my life 20years ago where is my justice

Guest

To all, This world does not care about veterans or in fact anybody but the rich. If you have't heard the illuminati in charge and they are the one's who are behind all of the wars, the discrimation, abuse.

Te rich are who run this country and we need to open our eyes and stand up.

It doesen't matter what illnes you have, they are behind all of this. Putting stuff in our foods, selling us food that is harmful is population control.

Guest

Hey PTSDer... you say "PTSD is not a problem in my life".

Then why are you getting 70% disability for it? Shady dude. If you are ok then why not send a letter to the VA saying no thanks for the disability check. Why don't you use your real name here?

I'd like to forward your post to the VA to investigate.

lol!

You are what is wrong with the system. You are pathetic bro.

i was with usaa for three and a half yrs with my auto policy. then i bought a home in april and after 3 days in my home my sewer lines had frozen and my water softner turned on to filter itself, couseing water to flood my down staires with black water the next day i called usaa and told them that i had water come in my home.

this happend april 18th and to this day june 27th i have not gotten anything from usaa and now i have mold starting in my crawl space. In my opinion i would stay as far away from usaa couse if you ever have a claim, its like squeezing blood from a turnip to get any money to fix your promblem.

Just like any company usaa won't always beat someone else's rate. Thats why we get "quotes" from multiple companies.

But my home flooded and usaa had it completely taken care of in 2 wks.

sorry you had problems. Couldn't say what the issue was there but they've always worked out great for me and I recruit people to them regularly.

36 year member. Came home from honeymoon to find water pouring out from the garage, failed toilet valve (according to water bill) poured out over 10,000 gallons over two weeks.

USAA never even came to the house, took our word for it! USAA Paid every cent of the itemized damage repair costs without every seeing the damage itself!

How easy was that?

Guest

Yes the banking is great, the insurance is a rip off. Customer service is all perky and friendly but don't expect the company to pay your claims.

First we purchased a home a few years ago and at the time USAA required a roof inspection before insuring. The inspection was fine and our home insurance was established. Three years later we were forced to make a claim for wind and hail damage to the roof. At that time the insurance rep informed us that he was "giving us the benefit of the doubt" that it was wind and hail damage and it really looked to be "shoddy workmanship".

The repair was under our deductable because they deemed only one section of the roof as needing repair. So the roof was in satisfactory condition to take our money but later it was "shoddy"? What a rip off. Then my husband was involved in an accident where the other driver was sited because he was turning improperly and illegally attempted to cut my husband off.

The driver who caused the accident had insurance that said they wouldn't cover my husband and USAA accepted that and would not pursue the issue. We end up paying twice for having USAA insurance and so are researching other companies that have more than "great customer service".

Guest

I have been with USAA for 50+ years. nothing but the best service.

No Major Hassle for me. :)

Guest

Yo foste16 you live in a trailer? How can a sewer line freeze anyway?

Why didn't you just grab a mop and clean up the water instead of calling the insurance company?

Mold in the crawl space? All that salt from the water softener would kill mold not cause it. :p

Guest

We have had trouble with water leaks as well. It depends on the type of leak, whether catastrophic or a result of poor maintenance.

In my experience, USAA is kinder to its customers than many of the other big advertisers. I have a relative who worked for a national big name for over 30 years and they cancelled HER on her auto insurance because someone else was living in her home temporarily (this person had his own insurance and his own vehicle and was not sharing with her). This big name company also drove by her house, saw the grass wasn't mowed and cancelled her home insurance. Insurance isn't perfect but USAA has consistently been rated A++.

I am a bit worried because they have started TV advertising but I suspect it's because of the insurance happy customers want every little shoelace paid for on a claim and the economy. I hope they keep their rating.

david f Ciy

Well no *** do I have a home owners policy, of course I have one why else would I try to collect my claim, at any rate usaa finally paid my claim in full after 4 months and they still suck, me or my family will ever use them again.

Guest

Foster16, i know your pain. I want to first say, to all those who haven't had a major problem with USAA; great, yea for you.

But for me, this is the worst experience ever when you have a leaky pipe in 4 areas of your home. Mississippi building codes suck for 1. Now we get down to repair what other people *** up. Calling these folks is like pulling teeth.

My flooded in june, and guess what, I just got water mediation out on yesterday; 1month later. Have a *** woman telling me that i need to have my clothing dry cleaned because USAA doesn't want to cover them in the damage. It was only for 600.00. Cost me so much out of pocket money to the point I had to move back in the mildew home since I faced so much resistance trying to get monies allocated for hotel.

What do we pay money to insurance co. for? I mean yes you have those who are just heartless and evil and place fradulent claims, but the attitude saying that all of your customers are lying is just distasteful.

I will be dropping these "good ole folks' as soon as my damages are repaid. And i will make it my busy to suggest others to not deal with this so call "cateter to the military and families" again!

Dont use USAA for a Mortgage!

We thought since we are military that we would use them. Well, we are sadly disappointed. They don't return phone calls or email, you just have to keep hounding them, they don't give accurate good faith estimates (ours was over $9,000 off) And they are apparently too busy to make sure they properly pre-approve Buyers. After six weeks, the inspection, appraisal and us all ready to move, they finally got around to looking at our paperwork in detail and denied us! (we disclosed everything up front, there should not have been any surprises) BAD FORM USAA! (yes, I am yelling!)

USAA baited and switched Mortgage Servicing:

After terrible mortgage servicing from another company, we were elated to find out USAA now carried first mortgages. after four (4)calls to them to confirm that they do not sell or transfer loans to other companies, we arranged transfer of the 'earnest' money to them. After a process where people you would normally not let into your house had to come into our home to do USAA process (appraisal, inspection, closer), when signing the final documents we discovered where USAA 'may' transfer the loan to another company. What do you do when you are out close to $800 and they paperwork is not what was agreed to while dealing with USAA? We unfortunately signed, and what did USAA do? Immediately transfered the loan to GMAC before the first payment was do. The first year, GMAC refunded close to $900 dollars from the escrow account, then upped the monthly payment because of escrow shortage. We have had four (4) different monthly payment amounts the first year! Call USAA to complain, they transfer you to GMAC, who places your call on hold and never picks back up.

USAA's is not trustworthy

I've had people straight out lie to me, I've got different stories from talking to one department to the next, I've been hung up on, I've spent a total of about 6 hours on the phone trying to get my Credit Card and Bank Account corrected, I've had to verify accounts online twice. I do not understand how this company has any good reviews. After being with this bank for under a month it has become clear that they can not be trusted with my money. I am closing my account and cancelling the credit card I just got with them.

More then doubled my life insurance premium

My USAA term life insurance policy is made up of both a level premium/level benifit portion of from 10 to 20 years as selected by the insured and a variable premium/decreasing benifit portion lasting until either the policy has been in effect 50 years or the insured's 90th birthday. After paying in for 13 of the selected 15 years of the level premium/level benifits portion, I checked with USAA regarding any requirements for contnuing into decreasing benifits portion and was informed that premiums for the decreasing benifit portion of that policy were scheduled to more that double over what had been advertised as the planned rate.

An annual renewable increases in premium each year and at a certain point decreases in death benefit because cost of insurance goes up as you get older. Never get a policy or maintain one that does not have a level DB/level premium.

As a matter of fact, term policies in general are junk and that is where the insurance companies get their money because only 2% of term policies are ever paid. ULIFE and Whole life are the best options, especially for younger people.

Their Mistake Costing Me!!!

I have had USAA insurance for over 8 years and when we moved from PA to FL back in March naturally we called in February to obtain a quote while preparing for our move. We were told the premium would increase due to Florida's high claim rate, okay so we weren't happy about it but oh well we made arrangements with USAA to start the new Florida policy on March 15th. The agent decided to go ahead and start the FL policy the day we go the quote which resulted in PA suspending our vehicle registration because we did not have PA insurance. Well, of course USAA said they would resolve the issue and did NOT. We ended up having to resolve the issue ourselves and at our own expense due to their mistake. In addition to this we now have to pay the state of FL an extra $110 per vehicle because we could not register our vehicles within the first 30 days after moving here.. all because USAA screwed up. After this we decided to switch insurance companies when we found out that USAA is reporting that we have had 15 coverage lapses within 3 months. We have ALWAYS had coverage and they are incorrectly reporting so now we are basically at their mercy until they decide to fix it. After 119, yes 119, phone calls and over 40 hours on the phone with "customer service". The issue still has NOT been resolved. To add insult to injury USAA has now screwed up the billing and wants us to pay for 6 months of premiums in 3 months which is about $500 a month, even though we have our payments automatically withdrawn each month and a payment has never been missed. They cannot find where the payments went, even after I sent them proof of the withdrawals by USAA. We are literally being held captive by USAA as their reporting mistakes have made it impossible for us to get accurate quotes. Even a letter of experience isn't enough since the errors are so great. Now we are being forced to resort to legal avenues thus costing us even more. Thanks again to USAA for screwing over another veteran and his family!

Does USAA want to receive NO money as second lien holders on California Short Sales?

Does USAA want to receive NO compensation when they are second lien holders on short sales in the state of California? With the passage of SB 458 on 7/15/2011 they can no longer require additional compensation by the homeowner to participate in a short sale. I have an approval from the 1st lien holder that is quickly expiring, and a verbal approval from USAA on the 2nd. They claim they don't have an approved letter from their legal department to issue. Not only is my patience wearing thin, but also my time. How can I illicit a faster response from them? They are cutting their nose off despite their face as they'll get nothing if the property is foreclosed upon.

Worst People In the country!!!!

A USAA insured didnt feel like waiting in traffic and drove off the shoulder of the highway and ended up t-boning our vehicle. The insured admitted to fault at the scene in front of the officer but recieved no ticket. Our car was totaled. USAA denied it was their insured's fault and did a very lousy investigation that just included of their talk with their insured. The adjustor ignored our calls and denied everything. Then USAA called us saying they admitted to being 40% at fault and would compensate only for 40% of the vehicle's price. We didn't agree but it was the most USAA was admitting to. They hung up the phone on us before we could arrange anything. The next day we call to verify we are told they now accept 50% of the fault and will not pay us anything for the vehicle that was claimed a total loss. We lost a vehicle, which is our main way of transportation to everything! They refused to listen or accept anything. This was the worst customer service I have ever seen. If I could fire them all, I would do it in a heartbeat.

I had a similar situation where they tried to say that I was 30% at fault for an accident when their driver ran a red light and tboned me. I couldn't get them to move off the 30% so I hired this company called Cerberus Subrogation Professionals to settle the claim.

They were able to get the full damages and I didn't have to do a thing except provide them with some of the documentation. Stand up to these big insurance companies. They try to use their money to push people into taking unfair settlements.

Don't let them get away with it. Fight for your rights.

Guest

While I feel your pain, the deafening fact that the accused party DIDN'T RECEIVE A TICKET at the scene of the accident leads me to believe that they weren't actually 100% at fault. Sounds like they were 50% at fault.

And where is your insurance company's fight in this?

You've written this like what's happened is a personal attack against you. It's a car ACCIDENT. Accident's suck!

And if the police didn't feel a ticket was deserved, their insurance isn't going to stick up for you, their going to stick up for their customer.

Advice - get your insurance to pick up the other 50%, get a new car and get over it.

Filed a legitimate claim and got dropped

My husband is a current active member of the military. Which is part of USAA's advertisement how they take care of their service members. Well we have had auto and home insurance with this well over 7 years or maybe even longer. The main pipe that runs through the house was leaking the house is 42 years old. The initial leak appeared to be coming from the kitchen sink well it turned out that the floor had to be removed. They paid the claims and dropped us effective next year. Punished for filing a claim. Company Sucks. Now they are trying to force us to some low budget company. Maybe Ms. Y. Rodriguez will know how it feels to have injustice done after she loses her job for screwing people. Cause there won't be no policies left for to cancel.
