USAA Insurance - terrible business model and customer service
The USAA web site upon registration seems easy to use to start your policy etc.
But when you need to remove a vehicle or stop the automatic credit card withdrawals they conveniently omit those features from the Website in order to keep the meter running - and when I called the 800 number to remove the vehicle that was sold the reps scripted response/business model was they want you to keep your liability coverage in place in case you borrow or test drive another vehicle.
What a CROC business model - to actually expect people to continue insurance on a vehicle that was sold just to keep the meter running.
I will NEVER use or recommend this company EVER!
Please don't fall for the commercials

USAA Home Owners Insurance
USAA builds its business on the idea that they take care of military members and their families. As an active duty service member, currently deployed to the Middle East, I can tell you this is not true in my case.
USAA is currently refusing to pay a $10,000 home owners insurance claim for water damage caused by a leaking mater bathroom tub faucet. In the adjuster's opinion, the damage was cause by a "long term" (greater than 14 day) problem and is therefore not covered by my insurance policy. Keep in mind that: a) this leak was in a place that is impossible to observer and b) was fixed as soon as it was discovered.
Even USAA's contractor stated that he had seen a leak like ours cause the amount of damage we experienced in as little as 5 days. It's a shame when a company you trust lets you down by trying to use loopholes to avoid honoring their commitment to you.
USAA IS AWEFUL! WILL NEVER USE AGAIN!

REFUSED TO PAY FOR STOLEN TOTALED CAR......
I HAVE BEEN WITH USAA FOR THREE YEARS.. IN JUNE 2011 MY CAR WAS STOLEN AND TOTALED USAA STATED THAT THEY CAN'T COMPENSATE ME FOR MY STOLEN VEHICLE BECAUSE IT HAS A SCRATCH ON THE TRUNK THAT WAS REPAIRED A YEAR AGO THROUGH THEM..
WHAT HAS THAT HAVE TO DO WITH MY CAR BEING STOLEN AND TOTALED?? I HAVE STILL NOT BEEN COMPENSATED AND IT'S THE END OF SEP.. THEN ON TOP OF THAT THEY TELL ME THEY WILL NOT RENEW MY POLICY AND BLOCK MY ACCESS TO USAA.COM.. A BUNCH OF LOW LIVES!!
AS A VETERAN I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO DISPLEASED WITH A MILITARY SERVICES OR SHOULD I SAY "SUPPOSED MILITARY PROVIDER" IN MY LIFE.. I AM SO GLAD I FOUND THIS SITE..
LOOKIN FOR MORE LIKE IT.. I AM ALSO REPORTING THEM TO THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU AND MY ATTORNEY GENERAL..

This is what I just sent to USAA concerning my auto policy (below in quotes). My irritation stems from the lack of the "delete" vehicle/policy option on the website and the ***' annoying commercials.
I should be able to delete my vehicle online without having to be "retained" by a USAA rep over the phone. You can perform nearly any policy related function online, without calling USAA, except to delete a vehicle. And, I think USAA is going to get some more backlash in the near future over their commercials. They beg the question: "Maybe we have too many veterans.?."
"""""""Delete my 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse and void my auto policy.
I junked my car (2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse) to a local junk car buyer on 04 Feb 2014.
I no longer need auto/liability insurance through USAA. I no longer want auto/liability insurance through USAA. I will not need USAA auto/liability insurance in the future to either rent a car or to loan a car to a friend/relative/neighbor, etc. I no longer own or possess the 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse that has been insured by USAA for over 10 years, nor do I own any other vehicles that I wish to insure through USAA.
I no longer possess the title to this vehicle either.
Please don't try to convince me to keep liability insurance though USAA for auto related purposes. I've faithfully paid my auto premiums for well over 10 years, with NO claims. No injuries to myself or others.
None. No tickets, no points on my license. So let me go peacefully.
Please delete/cancel my policy. Please don't beg me to keep a USAA auto policy for any reason.
Have some dignity. Keep the remaining policy premium I've paid. With all the sappy USAA television commercials, I think that you need it more than me.
If for some reason my current auto policy is not cancelled per this request, I will not pay any future premiums charged to me. Because I no longer own any vehicle(s) insured by USAA.
Simply add a "delete vehicle/cancel policy" button on the USAA website and you won't attract this kind of venom. Don't hold on so tight. And enough with the sappy and overly sentimental commercials. It's becoming genuinely repulsive.
I'm betting that USAA marketing secretly wishes for another war, so that more veterans/families will qualify for USAA membership. See the concern? Add the "delete vehicle" option on the website.
Delete my 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse and void my auto policy. Have a nice day.""""""""
I am also having issues figuring out how to remove a vehicle from my policy. I even do a search on their website to "remove a vehicle" and it gives me a link with a description which says "add, change, or remove" a vehicle.
I click the link and it takes me to a page which does NOT have the option to remove.
I'm very frustrated as I just sold my vehicle and it's out on the road insured by me and not driven by me. :-/
Pulltype and others are going to every post about USAA and posting comments which do not offer value to the statements of the posters. It wouldn't surprise me if this is some of USAA's employees trying to put spin on the posts.
Pissed consumers are generally honest people who receive bad service. What they should be doing is offering better service instead of trying to discredit events which actually occurred.
People lie all the time on this site.
I've used USAA for several years and found them to be very professional and polite, even during the claim process.
THIS COMPANY SUCKS!!!
Are you guys employees??? well count yourself lucky until you deal with this company's dark side..read some of the complaints i do not think people would lie ...why take the time to tell others that you are treated unfairly..it's the only way to vent frustration..i fully understand..this company is ruthless and should be held accountable for their unethical business practice...some people do not have the time to let others know how badly they were treated..so thank God for not seeing this company's dark side..they can ruin your life...they are heartless ..only interested in ripping off innocent people...
I have been a USAA customer for twenty years, never had a problem with any of their services. I recently removed two of my vehicles from our policy with no issues.
Not sure of the problem with this poster, but this report is False. I have deleted numerous vehicles over the years. False!
